2019 Centurion Fi23 Screen Frozen on the Acknowledge Page? The 12.3 inch PV1200 Fix
2019 Centurion Fi23 Screen Frozen on the Acknowledge Page? The 12.3″ PV1200 Fix
If your 2019 Centurion Fi23 powers up to the warning screen and the acknowledge button refuses every tap, the display hardware itself is the cause. The touch layer on the 12.3 inch PV1200 tends to lose sensitivity right where that critical button sits, locking you out of the entire helm. Here is what is happening behind the glass, and the repair paths that get you back on the water in 3 days or less.
The signature PV1200 failure: the display boots to the warning page but the acknowledge button will not register a tap. This same 12.3 inch platform sits at the helm of the 2019 Centurion Fi23.
What Is the Fi23 Display?
The 12.3″ Enovation PV1200 touchscreen
The 2019 Centurion Fi23 carries a 12.3 inch Enovation PV1200 touch display at the helm. Flip the unit around and you will find the part numbers printed on the back label: 78700619 and SP700TWFJ. Built by Murphy / Enovation Controls, this display runs everything on the Fi23: ballast, surf profiles, audio, lighting, engine data, fuel, depth, and the boot time safety warning that requires a tap on the acknowledge button before any controls become active.
Compatible Part Numbers (Centurion PV1200)
The same PV1200 platform appears across 2017 to 2024 Centurion models with the 12 inch touch display, plus Supra, Mastercraft (the top center “Skinny Pete” screen), Nautique as the LINC Panoray, South Bay pontoons, and Trifecta. If the label on the back of your unit shows any of the part numbers above, this guide applies to your boat.
The 4 Most Common Failures
What goes wrong on the 12.3″ PV1200
We frequently see four failure patterns on the PV1200 platform, and a completely frozen screen stuck on the acknowledge page leads the list:
🚫 Frozen on the Acknowledge Page
The signature failure, and exactly what happened on this Fi23. The display boots normally, the warning page appears, and the acknowledge button ignores every tap. In many cases the rest of the panel has gone unresponsive as well, so there is no way past the screen.
☀️ Sunburned LCD
Permanent dark blotches or burn in patterns across the display. After hundreds of hours of direct sun at an open helm, LCD pixels can degrade unevenly. Once visible, the damage stays there until the panel is replaced.
🎨 Bad Colors & Stripes
Discolored zones, vertical stripes, or color bars across part of the screen. These tend to show up as the internal connections age under the same heat and vibration that wear down the touch layer.
🌊 Edge Delamination
Visible peeling where the cover glass meets the bezel, often with a watery cloud creeping inward. A sign the factory seal has been compromised and moisture has started to enter the display.

Why the Touch Layer Fails
The capacitive grid wears out before the rest of the display
The PV1200 reads your finger through a fine grid of transparent conductive traces layered over the LCD. Each trace registers a tiny change in capacitance when you touch the glass, and the display’s controller converts that change into a coordinate. On a wake boat, several forces work against that grid year after year:
- Heat cycling at the helm – the dash bakes in the sun all day and cools overnight. Repeated expansion and contraction tends to stress the fine sensor traces and their connections.
- Direct UV exposure – open helms see full sun for hours at a time. UV gradually breaks down the protective layers above the touch sensor, leaving the conductive traces more vulnerable over time.
- Marine humidity and condensation – even a well sealed display sees some moisture migration over years on the water, and the touch layer is typically the first component affected when it does get in.
- Hull and tower vibration – wake boats produce constant vibration under way. Persistent vibration has been known to weaken solder joints and traces inside the display assembly.
How to Remove the Fi23 Display
Standard hand tools, about 20 minutes at the helm
The PV1200 comes out of the Centurion dash as a single unit with its housing intact. No dash disassembly required.
- 1Disconnect the boat’s battery before any work at the helm. Pull the negative terminal first.
- 2Access the back of the dash and locate the mounting fasteners for the display housing, typically four to six screws on the rear face.
- 3Remove the mounting fasteners with a standard socket and set the hardware aside for reinstallation.
- 4Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the unit. The PV1200 uses keyed multi pin connectors, so nothing can be plugged back in the wrong way.
- 5The display slides forward out of the dash as a complete unit. Pack it well for shipping, no further disassembly needed.
