What models are affected?
The second generation Yamaha Connext 7 inch was introduced in 2019 and is used in many current boat models. You can measure the viewable screen diagonally to understand if this is your model. If you are unsure, please send us a photo for confirmation.

Why are the Yamaha Connext screens delaminating?
This is a common occurence in the marine industry, it is due to the internal liquid glue separating from the glass and LCD. It starts in the corners and spreads to the entire surface. Heat, UV exposure, and humidity contribute to this happening.

Why is it happening?
Exposure to sunlight and heat expose a weakness in the durability of the internal glue bond. This can be covered by your warranty, but commonly, boat warranties are only one year.
What are my options to fix it
Is the mtc screens design better than the original?
We use a custom proprietary blend that has been carefully design to resist the high UV, heat, and vibration that is common in the marine environment.
Our similar designs have been undergoing testing for years in direct sunlight to ensure your new screen won't delaminate.

How to proceed with the repair?
You can place your mail-in repair order at the link below. You will then receive a Fedex mailing label (USA Only, international customers need to follow mail in instructions) We will replace the failed delaminated LCD touch screen assembly and then test and send it back to you.
Is there any programming needed when I receive my repaired unit?
No, we are only replacing the LCD touch screen, all the software and computer side stays the same. Its like replacing your monitor for your home PC.
