Is Your Nautique LINC Blacked Out or Stuck on Booting? Here Is How to Remove and Fix It

A black screen or a display frozen on the booting page is one of the most common HV700 failures we see on 2012 and 2013 Nautiques. Here is why it happens, how to remove the display from your dash, and how our standard mail-in repair brings it back.

📺

What Is the LINC 2.0 Display?

The 7 inch helm display behind Nautique's LINC 2.0 system

The LINC 2.0 display on 2012 and 2013 Nautique boats is a 7 inch Murphy/Enovation HV700 unit, framed by the rubber buttons on your dash. It runs your gauges, speed control, ballast, audio, and system settings, so when it goes dark or hangs on the booting page, you lose the heart of the helm.

The same HV700 hardware sits behind the displays on Supra, Mastercraft, Tige, Centurion, Regal, and many other boats from the same era. That is why this failure shows up across so many brands, and it is also why we see it in our shop every single week.

The Failures We See Most

Stuck on booting and blackout lead the list on this display

Stuck on the Booting Page

The display powers on, the booting text appears, then it hangs there indefinitely. Restarting the boat or resetting the battery tends to leave it unchanged.

Black Screen

The display looks completely dead even though it has power. In many cases the unit is actually still running behind a dark screen.

Faint, Barely Visible Image

The booting text or graphics are so dim you can only spot them at an angle or with a flashlight. Owners frequently mistake this for a dead unit.

LCD Stripes, Spots, or Burn

Vertical stripes, dark blotches, or sunburned patches on the image that have been known to spread over a season or two.

Why It Happens

Years of heat, sun, and vibration take a toll inside the display

A helm display lives a hard life. It bakes in direct sun, cycles through heat and cold, and takes constant vibration from the water. After years of that, the internal display components and control electronics on the HV700 have been known to fail, and when they do, the unit can hang on the booting page or drop to a black screen even though the rest of the boat is perfectly fine.

It is a hardware failure inside the display itself, which is why software resets, battery disconnects, and fuse checks tend to leave the symptom exactly where it was.

⚠️ Good to know: A screen that looks black often still shows extremely faint booting text if you look closely at an angle. Either way, the failure is the same and the same repair fixes it.
