Display Screen removal and DIY instructions for mtc screens products

Remove chrome bezel from glass using pry tool . Tape is located on screen perimeter

Remove 4x phillips screws to free black mounting plate from dash.

From back of unit, remove Yellow RCA video plug, and 6 pin connector. Remove 2 nuts and remove bracket securing display to black plate. Unit can now be removed

Reinstall chrome bezel with RTV clear silicone

Press plug tab down and remove plug from display body

Remove 4x hex screws shown in red circles. Screens comes out the front.

Reach into helm and remove nuts that secure faux carbon fiber bezel to fiberglass dash. You can lie on your back facing up and reach up to the display

Swing bezel forward so you can access connectors. The connectors have a tab lock to squeeze before removal. Remove the connectors. The 7" VIper 2 models use only a single ethernet cat6 Cable. Shown below is the 6.5" Viper 1

Remove 4x nuts that secure the aluminum plate , the display can now be removed.

Look at back of display. Remove blue ethernet cable. Remove Two screws and washer. The display is now free.

Turn off master switch and remove plugs on back of display

Use 1/4" deep socket to remove the nut holding the 3 clamps in place. Click for video.

Remove clamps and remove display from the front. It may be a tight fit.

Remove aluminum trim ring bezel from display with small hex wrench prior to sending it in for repair

Applies to lower right Primary 7" Display  

Look at the back of the screen, remove two phillips screws on left side

Remove right side 2x phillips screws

With 4x screws removed, the front brushed metal piece will come off

Press locking tabs on harness plugs and pull away from display to remove all plugs

All plugs removed from back of unit

Display will come out from the front

Display removed, be sure to package it well if sending in for mail in service.

Pop off access panel

Look inside access area, remove 4 phillips screws that secure screen to dash.

Remove nuts securing the front vinyl piece. Loosen but do not remove wing nuts holding top vinyl piece on.

Lift off front vinyl piece to provide clearance so screen can tilt forward.

Tilt screen forward and remove USB connector, lift tabs and remove plugs and all connections.

Display is now free and can be mailed in for restoration.

Remove phillips screws and lift off dash cover

There are 2 screws that secure the display to your dash, remove them

There is a blue ethernet cable into the bac,, press the locking tab and remove the cable. It is the same as a computer networking cable

Tilt the display forward and remove it from the dash. Important- DO NOT overtighten the screws when installing the new display. Finger tight only.

This is the non touch part number for Freightliner RV- 6913-00561-01 and it commonly delaminates or causes bubbles.

This is the Freightliner part number, commonly over $5500 USD at the dealers. 

Reach into helm and remove 4 nuts and washers that secure metal trim bezel that clamps the display to the dash. Press locking tab on Ethernet CAT6 Cable and remove cable
