r3 testing update - GOOD NEWS

I have great news!

My tester in Texas reported that the r3 design is successful and correctly providing input to the MTC system. In addition- it provides improved clarity and brightness than the original.

Expected arrival of these first batch units is 9/26/22 and I will be performing all repairs myself, in order of arrival. Top priority will be on the units that have the extended warranty. This will allow me to place more and larger orders, and bring some local technicians on to help with installations.

I would expect 2-3 days for me to complete the repair on your unit and then I will get it right back to you.

Touch screen delamination

Several boats suffer from a major design defect in their 6.5” Malibu Touch Command (MTC), also known as the Medallion Smart Display- part number 6913-00503-01.

The original design uses a liquid adhesive to bond the touch assembly to the LCD panel. Unfortunately, this glue adhesive will separate and delaminate after couple years of UV exposure. This causes bubbles, peeling, lost touch response, and erratic touch response.

The dealer will offer you a new MTC infotainment display module every couple years at a cost of $3,250. We offer a solution that should last much longer at less than half the dealer cost.

Using our 20+ years of product development experience, we have manufactured an improved design LCD assembly. We offer a mail-in repair service where we remove the defective touch assembly from your MTC unit. Then, improved touch assembly is carefully placed. We will then reship the MTC to you for reinstallation, and many years of worry-free boating.
